Our Valentine Years

2006,
Our first Feb 14,
The feelings were fresh,
You were my king,
And I your queen.
Love was all around,
As you held my hand,
That day I knew,
It you with whom always I’ll stand.
2007,
The love had grown deeper,
And we were more closer,
The transition seemed complete,
From a best friend, to a lover.
Your love filled eyes,
And the warmth of your kiss,
Brought out feelings in me,
That I never wanted to miss.
2008,
By then it was decided,
Its you with whom I wanna spend my life,
To be with you, to have your kids,
To age gracefully, and grow old as your wife.
If only I knew,
This was gonna be our last,
I’d have held you close to me,
And never let you go apart.
2009,
I stood all alone,
With tears in my eyes,
And a part of me gone.
There was no hand to hold,
No chest to put my head,
Those were one of the times,
I’d gladly have preferred to be dead.
2010,
I’ve fought myself,
Have learnt to live with your memories,
This day doesn’t seem so bad,
When I still have all our stories.
With your thoughts in my life,
Everyday I still shine,
As long as your in my heart and mind,
Everyday for me, is Valentine.
