Shine this Diwali

The most beautiful thing about Diwali is ‘lighting up’. I love to see the tiny shimmering lights adorned on buildings, shops and the diyas lining up the balconies of houses… the sound bursting of crackers… even though many of you might say it is not eco-friendly … I completely love the screaming shouting spirit of Diwali… the Diwali that makes you do dumb things like climbing up walls to light up rockets in broken bottles, jump and scream when kids throw small patakas at you, the diwali of lehengas , mithai, rangoli… Diwali pops up and makes you feel alive! And that’s so needed in the monotonous boring life we all live.

More than the pollution, if you don’t burst crackers, it should be because of the seven-ten year old kids who work in factories in remote parts of bihar and u.p. where they work a whole day to get a meager salary of five-ten potatoes and some rice. I talk from firsthand experience, when you see that, you want to shut down the whole business of crackers, but then I think every industry is similar in that aspect. What a life!

Shine this Diwali.. Be the light you hope to see around.
